ABOUT ROOTED & CO. LEADERSHIP COACHING

Hi, I’m Shelbie — a leadership coach who believes growth happens when we are grounded in who we are and brave enough to step into who we’re becoming. I help leaders slow down, get clear, and lead with purpose, empathy, and courage. My approach is warm, real, honest, and deeply human — because leadership is serious work, but it doesn’t have to feel heavy or isolating.
My Education & Professional Background
I hold a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, which shaped my passion for human development, values-driven culture, and the psychology behind how people grow.
Today, I serve as the Director of People Development in the Texas Tech University System’s Office of Leader & Culture Development, where I support leaders across all TTU System universities. I design and deliver leadership programs, facilitate values summits, coach emerging and experienced leaders, and help organizations create cultures where people can truly thrive.
My work has allowed me to guide thousands of leaders through transformational learning experiences — and I bring that same intentional, grounded approach to every coaching session.
My Coaching Certification
I earned my professional coaching certification through Texas Tech’s Red Raider Coaching Program, an ICF-aligned program focused on building strong coaching foundations in active listening, reflective inquiry, goal setting, and meaningful accountability. This training helps me blend curiosity, clarity, and courage into coaching conversations that support real, sustainable growth.
Why I Coach
I created Rooted & Co. Leadership Coaching because I truly believe leaders deserve a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves — a space where they can show up honestly, explore challenges without judgment, and get support that strengthens both who they are and how they lead.
My coaching style is grounded, empathetic, and courage-focused. I help leaders navigate complexity, step into their strengths, and create alignment between their values and their daily actions.
Whether we’re exploring goals, workplace dynamics, confidence, purpose, or personal development, my goal is always the same:
help you feel more rooted in who you are and more confident in who you’re becoming.
A Little About Me Personally
Outside of coaching, I’m a mom of three incredible kids who keep life full of joy, laughter, and a whole lot of energy. They are my daily reminder that growth is messy, beautiful, and worth leaning into.
I love good coffee, meaningful conversations, and creating experiences — whether that’s planning a family adventure, designing something in Canva, or building spaces for people to feel seen and supported.
